2023 Funsticks Season Information

This programme aims to introduce children (Year 1-2) to hockey in a safe and exciting way with a focus on developing fundamental movement and basic hockey skills. Run by GoaLab Hockey, Chris Leslie and his team have produced successful programmes over the past few years guaranteed to provide the kids with a great hockey experience.

Fun sticks runs from 9:00-10:00am on a Saturday morning at Nunweek Park. The cost for 10 weeks, in 2023 was $100.

The programme designed in conjunction with our representative coaches and educators of this age group is a mixture of:

Fundamental hockey skills

General concepts of space, movement and co-ordination

Small games for understanding

If you are unsure about whether your child will enjoy it, please register first, come down and have a go, we look forward to welcoming you to this super fun programme!

Equipment

Hockey sticks are supplied on a weekly basis for anyone needing them. Just Hockey provides a junior starter kit which includes a hockey stick, shin pads, and mouthguard.

Uniform

There are no uniform requirements. Mouthguards and Shin pads are compulsory. Suitable sneakers, not rugby boots as they play on astroturf.

Should Harewood Hockey Funsticks need to be cancelled, it will be posted on our junior Facebook Page
